On the borders of Alaska and Canada, for over a thousand years, lie a cluster of mountains in peace. Peace which was broken in border disputes which began in 1825, and went on till 1903, to the brink of war, when Lord Alverstone was brought in to carve a peaceful settlement.
Lord Alverstone, with due consideration to all diverse interest involved, skillfully carved out the moutainous region, which was drawn as the border acceptable to all, and thus averted war, a win-win solution for all.
The mountain was named after Lord Alverstone, and the spirit of winning and value enhancing for all stakeholders involved, thus began, First Alverstonians ....
